Edinburgh Spy Week culminates in a panel discussion among some of the leading spy fiction writers of the present moment: Charles Cumming, Jeremy Duns, Dame Stella Rimington, and Tim Stevens. The event follows a series of short talks on the history of the spy fiction genre by University of Edinburgh academics – Dr Simon Cooke, Prof. Penny Fielding, Dr Anna Vaninskaya, and Dr Jonathan Wild – give short talks on different periods and dimensions of spies in literature and the spy fiction genre. Spy Day takes place in Teviot Dining Room, Teviot Row House, at the University of Edinburgh. At the end of the day, there will be book signings by the authors, with Blackwell’s Bookshop on hand selling copies of works by the authors in the adjacent Middle Reading Room.
